Update from the Shop #4

Here’s another brief “photo essay” of our progress at the shop. While our away team was busy solving problems and closing loops down in Las Vegas at EDC, the rest of us were working away at Xylophage. The Foundry Floozies, as our casting crew likes to be known, fired up the crucible and cast some nice aluminum shapes for Xylophage.

The anticipation, juuuuust before the molten aluminum is poured into the sand mold.

Filling the mold…

Once the mold is full of aluminum, the extra is poured out into a muffin tin.

Then, once the metal is cooled, Sooz digs the shapes out of the sand.

Meanwhile, up in the darkness of the geek suite…

MCT and Sam play with different color swatches to make the light look best with our color schemes.

Wooooooooo pretty.

Powered by BBQ, we are charging full steam ahead towards Xylophage’s completion!

It only gets more hectic from here on out, but with one eye on the calendar, we’re right on task to bring it all together in our typical flurry of activity and acceleration of productivity. If there’s one time we shine as a group, it’s crunch time!

…and yay for that.  Because this next several weeks is one of the uniquely rewarding times to be a Flaming Lotus Girl!
